2009 ASME Conference in San Diego, CA
August 30th to September 2nd, 2009: Prof. Robert Parker and three students from the dynamics and vibration lab attended the 2009 Design Engineering Technical Conference and Computers and Information in Engineering Cnference held in San Diego, CA. Prof. Robert Parker presented three papers: Structured Eigensolution Properties of Planetary Gears with Elastically Deformable Ring Gears, Vibration of Planetary Gears with Elastically Deformable Ring Gears Parametrically Excited by Mesh Stiffness Fluctuations, and Nonlinear Resonant Vibration of Counter-Shaft Gears with Fluctuating Mesh Stiffness. Other presentations include Computational Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of Gear Pairs Using a Three-Dimensional Model and Vibration Modes of Helical Planetary Gears by Tugan Eritenel, A Frequency Domain Finite Element Approach for Three-Dimensional Gear Dynamics by Chris Cooley, and Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of a Planetary Gear Involving Tooth Wedging and Bearing Clearance Nonlinearity by Yi Guo.
Prof. Robert Parker was awarded by ASME for his outstanding and distinguished service to the colleagues in the society as Associated Editor of Journal of Vibrations and Acoustics from 2003 to 2009.
