Changes (Effective March 1, 2013)

  • 1 full membership (with 1 vote) at a fee of $40K per year remains unchanged.
  • At least two $40K membership fees from 2 members (i.e. $80K per year) for each  “umbrella” project would be needed.  Note that the “umbrella” project is defined as a cluster of related sub-projects in the same overall research area, though each sub-project may have its own distinct set of objectives. Such projects may last multiple years.
  • If a member wishes to fund a solo (guaranteed, “non-umbrella” type project), that member must pay an additional “project fee” (see table below). Alternately, the member could bring in at least 1 affiliate member to their solo project at $10K per year.
  • Affiliate fee will increase to $12K/year from 2017.

IAB

The industrial Advisory Board (IAB) will consist of one representative from each of the companies who sponsor the program as full members. These representatives will have the responsibility for evaluating current research thrust, suggesting new opportunities, evaluating center operations and matching center capabilities with unfilled research needs.

The Academic Advisory Committee consists of the principal investigators, an external member from each university’s departmental advisory board and one external academic.
