About the Center
The Center was successfully launched by the lead institution (The Ohio State University) in July 2007.
Support comes through a grant by the National Science Foundation and through industry sponsorship. Current projects include the development of smart materials and devices for vehicle use. This pre-competitive technology is shared among contributing members.

Sponsors currently include 9 industrial members (4 with 2 memberships each), 2 affiliate members, and 3 invited observers at The Ohio State University, and 1 industrial member (2 memberships) (with 1 new membership expected soon) and 1 affiliate member at Texas A&M University.
