Research

Dr. Guezennec's research interests have been focused on studying the structure of turbulent flows and designing methods to affect their transport characteristics (drag and heat transfer reduction), as well as new statistical or stochastic tools to explore their spatio-temporal structure. He also has developed new experimental imaging methodology to probe these complex flows, particularly 2-D and 3-D Particle Tracking Velocimetry Techniques. Dr. Guezennec is also very active in characterizing internal flows in I.C. Engines and predicting their effect on combustion characteristics and overall performance. He is currently involved on stratified-charge combustion and real-time combustion diagnostics in I.C. Engines. Finally, Dr. Guezennec is a very active participant in both teaching and research in the DOE-funded Center of Excellence on Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
