Research

Professor Miller is currently director of the Nuclear Reactor Laboratory. Professor Miller specializes in nuclear and reactor instrumentation, reactor system control, nuclear power plant operations, and applied artificial intelligence. Professor Miller's current research includes expert systems and advanced computer methods applied to reactor operations and control, performance of fiber optics in nuclear reactor radiation environments, and dynamic reactor safety systems. His instructional responsibilities include mechanical and nuclear engineering measurements and controls. His recent research activities have been directed to computer-based safety and control systems, and applications of fiber optics in nuclear power plants.
