Research Interests
I am interested in understanding how normal knee motion and function are affected by surgical procedures such as Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). My current project is determining the biomechanical effects of variations in femoral and tibial prosthetic component rotational alignment in TKA using computer simulations. I am investigating the effects of alignment on knee kinematics, muscle force, ligament forces, and contact forces with the goal of determining how alignment translates into functional performance.
