Note to Potential Graduate Students and Visiting Scholars
1. Information for MS and PhD Degree Applicants in Mechanical Engineering
2. Opportunities for Full and Partial Support (for Students)
I cannot promise any assistantships based on resume and/or email correspondence.
There is usually a strong competition since we do attract the best and the brightest from many institutions. You may wish to check the web site for some information on typical projects, courses, and publications. Note that the research assistantships are controlled by the availability of funds and some projects might require unique analytical or experimental skills.
Graduate Research Assistantships may be available in the Smart Vehicle Concepts Center: www.SmartVehicleCenter.org. We expect a few openings in the Acoustics and Dynamics Laboratory www.autonvh.org next year.
I will evaluate potential candidates for the Acoustics and Dynamics Laboratory www.autonvh.org only after the admission files are complete. I will be contacting candidates only after the entire admission process has been formally completed and if we do have any openings.
3. Opportunities for Visiting Scholars
I do encourage foreign visiting scholars to apply. Please note that such scholars are often supported by external scholarships or fellowships. Opportunities for financial aid from OSU are very limited though we provide facilities for conducting research.
At this point, there are no openings for full-time post-doctoral researchers.
Thanks,
R. Singh
