Teaching Activities and Accomplishments
- Developed an innovative graduate sequence on noise & vibration control in partnership with GM.
- Introduced new courses in acoustics, machine dynamics, and digital signal processing.
- Developed a comprehensive and unique undergraduate honors program.
Research Interests and Activities
- Machine dynamics, acoustics, vibrations, non-linear dynamics, fluid control and signal processing.
- Directed over 10 million dollars of sponsored research and grant programs, over the past 2 decades.
- Sponsors: US Army, NASA, NSF, Chrysler, GM, Ford, Goodyear, Nissan, Bosch, IBM, etc.
- Co-Directed DOD - URI project on Rotorcraft Transmission Dynamics ($1.88m, ‘92-99).
- Directed Ohio Board of Regents Grant on Acoustics & Vibration Instrumentation ($1.85m, ‘96-‘02).
- PI, NSF sponsored I/UCRC on “Smart Vehicle Concepts” (2006-).
