The mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is the education of professionals in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, the dissemination of knowledge and technology, and the development of innovative solutions to problems in these fields.

Wang Named 2009 Powe Award Winner

(L-R) Randy Moses (the College of Engineering's Associate Dean for Research), Interim Dean Greg Washington, Junmin Wang, ME Chair Cheena Srinivasan, and Dr. Carol Whitacre (the Office of Research's Vice President for Research)Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), a consortium of Ph.D. granting academic institutions that promotes collaborative partnerships to enhance scientific research and education in the U.S., recently named assistant professor Junmin Wang as a Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award winner. Wang is one of 30 individuals out of 118 nominees to win the award. He will be receiving a $10,000 grant, courtesy of ORAU and Ohio State, which will serve as seed money for his research.
